Whether your a weekend warrior, or an avid skier, sooner or later you are going to need an exercise program that's going to get your core abdominal and glutes ready for the season. Let's face it, winter is upon us and for those of you who are skiing fanatics out there, what a great time it is in polishing those skis, grabbing the hot chocolate, and hitting the slopes for another fantastic winter.
First, I want to discuss a program for those of you who are the weekend warrior type. This is without a doubt the time of year we all have been looking forward to. The holiday's are upon us, family is near, and it is time once again to get some quality ski time. Let it snow! I'm with ya! But keep in mind that because we only ski a handfull of times a year, our bodies are left to fend for themselves since we really can't condition ourselves before the snow falls. Plan ahead and prepare your body for the rigors of skiing.
It is difficult (not to mention a little dangerous) to build up any strength and endurance for muscle stamina before we hit the slopes. Before heading out, it would be best to start a regular exercise routine a few months before your planned trip so as to not surprise your body once you start heading down Death Mountain in full stride. It's never too late to start! And your ego will thank you. I don't want you getting caught on the next skier blooper reel. ;)

Now, for those of us who are die hard ski fans, make sure you continue the exercise routine that you do. In fact, I suggest kicking it into high gear. With the winter season already upons us, chances are you are going to be skiing much more then you have in the last few months. All the better to keep your body in top shape.
As is probably the case, you are already in great physical shape! Maybe you don't even need to look past your front lawn to find a ski slope. For those of you that this applies, I did a little research and found an article that explains in a brief detail what you should be looking for and focusing on to enhance your ski season.
